In God's Word

Starting my day with God is always a goal of mine but it doesn't always happen. This morning was a great example. When my husband get's in the shower in the morning, I consider that my 'snooze' button. This morning when I heard the shower start, I started talking to God. Thanking him for today, asking him to bless my day and to protect and guide my children ... but then I must have fallen back asleep because the next thing I knew my husband was out of the shower and I was rushing to get downstairs to get breakfast going. I really must do better! Thank goodness He always knows what's on my heart!

Birthday Marathon

The beginning of the year is a busy time for our family. We ring in the new year and then start the Birthday Marathon. We celebrated Kayleen's 15th birthday earlier this month, and tomorrow we will celebrate Kelsey's 11th birthday. Our family tradition is that the celebrant gets to choose what to have for their birthday dinner. Kelsey usually starts choosing her meal in June, and changes her mind a zillion times. This year she has settled on homemade chicken noodle soup and for dessert, chocolate fondue. On Friday night she will celebrate with her best pals here at the house. Happy Birthday Kelsey, we love you!

We'll wrap up the birthday marathon next month. Camille turns 13 at the end of February...

Friday Dinner

Recently, my husband Chris has taken it upon himself to cook dinner on Fridays. I am really enjoying this new tradition because despite my attempts to plan ahead, by Friday I am usually tapped out of ideas for the dreaded question, "What's for dinner?" So thanks C, for giving me a break and a yummy dinner to look forward to every Friday.

My First Post

Starting a blog has been on my 'To Do' list for quite some time. I've been procrastinating mostly because I think to myself, what could I possibly have to share, or will anyone read it? I guess I'll find out soon enough.

The things that matter most to me are my faith and my family, so that's what I'll be sharing with you.

Thanks for stopping by and check back often to see what my family and I are up to.
